As it winds down the completion business at its St. Louis facility, Jet Aviation will be cutting jobs there in preparation for conversion into a maintenance facility for sister company Gulfstream Aerospace Services.

Jet Aviation announced late last week that it plans to shut down its St. Louis completions and maintenance center, in preparation for its transition to a maintenance operation to be operated by sister company Gulfstream Aerospace. According to a statement from Jet Aviation, it has notified the employees at its St. Louis Downtown/Cahokia Airport (CPS) facility of pending staff reductions, which are expected to affect some 330 workers—half of the location’s workforce. The company is offering severance packages.

The layoffs will be implemented in several phases through the first quarter of 2018. Jet Aviation will continue to operate its FBO, one of two service providers at the airport, and noted that some of the workers affected by the closing of its completions and maintenance business will be able to transfer to the new Gulfstream facility.

Jet Aviation acquired the former Midcoast Aviation facility at CPS in August 2006.
